When They Were Wild (2013), a collaboration between The Huntington Library, Art Collections and Botanical Gardens, Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Gardens, and The Theodore Payne Foundation, at The Huntington's Boone Gallery.

This exhibition explores a rich legacy of illustrations of California flora produced by amateur naturalists. Wall colors are inspired by shifting weather patterns.
